Been looking through the local paper today for any signs of retail jobs available.... none. Well, except for working in a warehouse for Wilkinsons. Not the most glamorous of jobs, but it's pretty good pay.

Hmmm... when can we move?! I'm always up in Notts every so often it feels more like I live there and tend to go back and visit nowheresville, rather than it being the other way around.

Been thinking abit about my course, so stressful! What with the placement thing and also just finding a regular shop job is like so difficult. When I read about how well other people do on their courses or how much they enjoy it, I sometimes wonder if I'm doing the right thing for me. I mean, I haven't really told anybody this, but last year was a real trail for me as I had to work my ass off (quite literally, taking 'burning the candle at both ends to next level by working a straight 24 hours just to meet a deadline!!) just to pass. And I remeber something one of my tutors said to me after looking at my work. He said at this rate, I'd be lucky to get a thrid, never mind a pass to scrape by. Talk about a downer! I'm a creative person and I like fashion... but half the time it seems like I just can't be bothered to do anything about it or to be "creative". Lol. I've always been an ace at English in skool, and loved photography and did quite well in it at college. So why fashion I hear you say? Probs cos I knew that if I choose English or Photography at uni, I know I'd ace it and it'd be easy, so I thought by choosing fashion it'd be more of a challenge. And when I failed to get onto fashion marketing and so hatched a plan to do fashion knitwear then try move into fashion marketing, I ended up staying cos knitwear wasn't so bad. Sometimes though it feels more like a chore to get something done.

Is it not quite right for me or am I just lazy?  I also have a tendancy to be lazy and indecisive too.

Thinking....

Well I've been back for almost a month or so now, and am still on the hunt for the elusive 2nd placement. Learn't that I could get away with the top-up weeks that I need to gain Industry Credits by working in retail.....  but wouldn't that just waste my skills/hinder my learning abit? Guess I don't have much of a choice since time's running out -scarily- quickly to find another placement, so maybe I will just have to take what I can get now.

But on the other hand if that does happen.... I can learn a thing or two from my granny! Since she can knit also. Maybe a blessing in disguise?  Albeit  a bloody stressful one if it is!  Lol!

Went out last night; Tantra -->  Lizard Lounge. Enjoyed myself and our smaller crew of Dac,  Tina, Martin, Phong and Craig were all having fun.  For once Dac wasn't driving do I had my Tequila buddy back! Yay!  We even had pink Sambuca!  It was a fun night out. Abit like the good old days!

Ciao

I'm back!

Yes I'm back in the country! Wooo! That sounds kind of weird, haha. Only been at home home for a few days, and already I was like 'It's toooo calm and quet here. I need NOISE and OVER-CROWDEDNESS!' lol. And then one of my friends said to me that I need to go to London! As it's busy and noisy there and apparently.... alot of cute guys too! Espcially in her workplace or so she keeps telling me.

Spent a few days unpacking. God I've brought back SO much stuff! But thing is, got so many freebies from work that I already had to give away 4 bags (yes 4 massive bags!) full of clothes and nick-knacks. Tried to sell stuff like my iron and little mirror.... but some cow at Webster kept taking down my advert. I was wondering why I couldn't even sell my bloody iron! Lol. So ended up giving the stuff away, and leaving it near th tv room for anyone to pick up what they wanted.

And now.... I am on the look out for another work placement. Oh the joys of stress. Don't you just love it? Went to Notts last w/e. It was gr8 seeing the gang again and catching up. I like long dinners and just chatting. Oceana was fun, haven't been out for a while. Apart from us, it was full of old fogies! Eeek! Haha. We took some cool piccies tho. Will have to put them up on Facebook or something. And the New York piccies - I will put them up too this week.

I'm a little tourguide, la, la , la!

Wooo! Dave and Sally are here!! Yay!

Met up with them in the afternoon today, went along some shops along 5th Ave, Tiffany's, Bloomingdales to name a few. Macy's too, but cos we went late we're going back tmr for some stuff! Hehe!

Had dinner at my favourite Korean place, Han Bat. We ordered my recommendations and they both agreed it was well yummy! We had Jap Chae, Bimbimbap with the beef, and this clear beef soup! (are these ur fav's too Yin?)  Dave loved the Kimchi.... it was sooo spicy!  The Bimbimbap was fun to eat too, cos they heat up this stone bowl, and inside is raw ingredients like veg, semi-cooked meat and a raw egg, and the idea is that u stir it all together urself, and it also cooks itself cos the bowl is super hot! Jap Chae is clear noodles (my current favourite food!) with pork and veg and sesame seeds. HmmmMmmMmmm.... pure heaven!

Tomorrow... the plan is; Macy's  -->  Soho --> Chinatown ---> maybe Empire State Building in evening.

I'm FreeEeEeeeeEeeee!

Finally finished my work placement, as today's my last day at work! Woohoo!

It was relaxed, as there wasn't much work to do anywayz. But the guys were picking me more, cos it was my last day. They weren't really picking on me, but just joking around. Like yesterday, I was goin down the lift with Devin and Belamy (my co-workers) and Devin was bumping into me, and pretending not to care, and Belamy was trying to put a bottle of water in my coat hood. Think we might have scared the other people in the lift! Haha. But it was funny though. Me and Devin were coming back from somewhere once, probs from an errand for Lars, and when we were about to get into the lift, Devin suddenly began pushing me into the wall! And almost squashed me but I was pushing back. The lady in the lift looked scared and horrified! Literally! Hahaha! We explained to her that we actually DO know each other and we work together, then she relaxed abit.

Feel quite relieved actually, and happy too. It even feels like when I first arrived in  New York, espeically since it's staying lighter for longer now too, so when I finish work the sun's just setting, creating a pale golden glow with a tinge of blue. Makes all the sky scraper buildings look amazing. You can see some of that in the new photos that I've just put up on my Facebook page. (yes yes I know.... loooooong overdue!)

Spent the remainder of the afternoon exchanging emails with people so we can keep in touch. They're sucha nice bunch, the people at my work. Really nice and friendly. And a laugh too. Gonna miss them.

Tomorrow... wanna to place called Grand Street in Chinatown, might look at some leather handbags! Hehe. And then.... possibly the Gugenheim. Dave and Sally are coming next week too!

Ciao! xx

PS Dave! Make sure u bring that HUGE suitcase with you! And Sally too for her stuff! cos believe me you two anr going to do so much shopping!lol.
